Sometimes when you’re writing an important Word document, it’s too easy to be distracted by all the menus and buttons. Did you know you can remove the clutter from Word and put it into Focus mode… with just one click? Here’s how.
Microsoft Word’s Focus mode helps you write without distractions by hiding menus, ribbons, and toolbars, leaving only your document on a clean screen. You can enable it instantly by clicking the Focus icon in the bottom-right corner of Word or by selecting View > Focus from the ribbon.
There are two easy ways to turn it on:
- Bottom Bar: Click the Focus icon near the Zoom slider at the bottom-right of the Word window.
- View Tab: Open the View tab and select Focus in the Immersive section.
While in Focus mode, you can temporarily reveal the ribbon by moving your cursor to the top of the screen. To exit, simply press the Esc key.
You can also personalize Focus mode by changing the background colour to options like dark mode, blue, or sepia for a more comfortable writing experience.
