WINDOWS 11: Master your messy desktop with a wrist flick

We bet you never thought that you could control your Windows 11 PC with a flick of the wrist?! If you have a lot of windows open, here’s how to use a gesture to bring just one of them into focus.

Declutter Your Windows 11 Desktop in Seconds

Is your Windows 11 desktop buried under a pile of open windows? You don’t have to minimize them one by one. Windows 11 includes built-in gestures that let you clear the clutter instantly, whether you’re using a touchscreen, touchpad, or a standard mouse.

Three-Finger Swipe Gesture (Touchscreen & Touchpad)

Need a clean desktop in an instant?

⬇️ Swipe down with three fingers to minimize all open windows and reveal your desktop.

⬆️ Swipe up with three fingers to restore every window exactly where you left it.

It’s one of the quickest ways to clear your workspace without closing a thing.

Aero Shake (Mouse Users)

If you’re using a mouse, Windows 11 also includes the handy Aero Shake feature to help you focus on a single window.

  1. Click and hold the title bar of the window you want to keep open.
  2. Give it a quick side-to-side shake.
  3. Every other open window will instantly minimize to the taskbar.
  4. Shake the window again to restore everything.

Not working? Enable it by going to:

Settings → System → Multitasking

Then switch on Title bar window shake.

These simple shortcuts can make multitasking much easier and help you stay focused with just a swipe or a flick of the wrist.
